The Pariah

Our group needs new blood (preferably type "GM Positive")

Right now our group is in hiatus due to 3 of the 4 members working in local haunted attractions for the Halloween season, but we plan on regrouping in early November. One problem though, it's likely nobody will really be in the mood to GM anything. With this in mind, I think it's time we allowed someone else into the group, preferably someone who's willing to give a group of misfits and ne'er-do-wells such as ourselves a try as players.

Some introductions...

"E"
Race: Balkan
Sex: Male
Class: Intellectual
Alignment: Arrogant
GM Profile: You won't find a better New World of Darkness storyteller anywhere!
Player Profile: Tends to play characters who are sociopaths, but rest assured he's no hack-n-slasher. Rather he's a roleplayer of the highest degree.
Warning: Aside from RPGs, his two favorite games are "Let me try to outsmart the GM" and "Let me go on some long-winded tirade to attempt to stun you with my limitless intellect and knowledge when all you want to do is play the frickin' game already".

"M"
Race: Italian/Irish
Sex: Female
Class: Dominatrix
Alignment: Perverted
GM Profile: Reputed for running games of "GURPS Goblins" and "Ghostbusters International", but tends to lose interest after one or two sessions.
Player Profile: Actually a pretty good roleplayer when she manages to stay awake.
Warning: Tends to fall asleep during sessions due to long work hours. Rather apt at making clever sexual innuendoes in an attempt to make her tablemates blush.

"G"
Race: French (we think)
Sex: Male
Class: Heckler
Alignment: Racist
GM Profile: Old-skool fantasy GM, pretty good at writing stories but has trouble with immersion due to his monotonous way of speaking.
Player Profile: More interested in making wisecracks, usually involving some offensive racial stereotype or doing bad impressions rather than actually playing. Helluva Warhammer 40K player, though!
Warning: If you're a minority, be sure you're the self-loathing type before approaching.

"Me"
Race: Barely Human
Sex: Not on your life
Class: Pain-in-the-ass
Alignment: Whiney
GM Profile: Lacks the mental capacity to GM anything other than straight-up comedy games such as "TOON!" and "Teenagers From Outer Space", and even then he's only half-assed at it.
Player Profile: Thinks he's God's gift to roleplaying but is in reality an obsessive, overly-dramatic twit.
Warning: Has been kicked out of every group he's ever been in except this one, and that's only because the other three like to see him cry.

Well, that about sums it up. So whaddya think, you up for a challenge?

Maybe I just missed it, but...what game do you want to play?

What've you got?

We'll try just about anything, though I'd prefer it not be D&D.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like D&D, and I'll play it if it's all you've got, it's just... You can only delve so many dungeons before they all look the same, y'know?

If all you've done in D&D is dungeon delves you need to play with a more creative DM :)

I agree with Steve though, Come on out to game day and meet some folk.

Sounds like you might be volunteering there Mike...

My suggestion is if your free, drop by Gameday tomorrow and meet the peeps there. It's usually the best way to find new players and GMs. People like to see your not a serial killer and its a better way to find out if your going to like the new people or not. The fact that it's on neutral ground I think helps as well.

A) I'm afraid I'm going to be too busy tomorrow between a performance read and my nephew's birthday.

B) What does a serial killer look like?

I might be game, but I'd like to meet everyone first. We'd all have to get a long and like each other first.

In the spirit of equal evaluation please find below.

Race: German/Irish/Jewish
Sex: Male
Class: Leader
Alignment: Diabloic
GM Profile: Free flowing, I don't like it when someone has to reference a rule book in order to do anything in the game. So rather than research everything I usually make common sense adjustments for the sake of time and sanity.
Player Profile: I'm the guy who does what the GM doesn't want him to do, because I believe that players make the game not the GM.
Warning: I tend to be very brusque and candid at times. I also like to drink.

I'd be up for meeting you guys for a drink to chat about games and see how we get along. I just moved to Vegas from Indianapolis and don't have a group yet.

I've GMed for years, because it's usually hard to convince someone new to try it. I have equal qualms about D&D dungeon crawls, myself. I just finished a 3 session d20 Star Wars game and promised myself I'd never run d20 again. :-P

My favorite games are World of Darkness (familiar with the Old, skimmed through the new), Exalted, Spirit of the Century, and a host of kick ass Independent RPGs. I've actually been itching to run/play Scion, Hunter: the Vigil, Adventure!, and Burning Wheel.

Even if you've already found your new GM, I'd love to jump in as a player or just meet for a beer. I could use some local gamer friends!
