This does look interesting. I went to the site on the link. I was hoping for some sample tracks (at least a few seconds so you know what you are downloading) but it's still cool. This might actually be fun to game with as long as the sounds are kept turned down enough that they don't bother other tables in the room (when we are at Vegas Game Day or a convention). It's kind of annoying to hear music and noise coming from some other table when you are trying to focus on the game you are playing. Would probably be best used in a setting where the game you are playing is the only one in the room. Then I suppose you could just go nuts and have the sound turned up, sound effects going off, pictures projected on the table and/or wall and whatever else you wanted to do to "jazz" your table-top game up. All that stuff is interesting but not really necessary. Some guys I game with would probably ask me to turn it off if I tried it. They'd probably say that sort of stuff gets in the way of using your own imagination and makes the game more like a video game.
Thanks for sharing this info. There is all kinds of cool stuff out there for table-top gaming. The enthusiasm of members of Vegas Gamers and the people who do sites like this (they obviously love the games or they wouldn't go to all this trouble) makes me more optimistic about the future of table top gaming.
I've been itching to get back to the gaming table... I LOVED Living Greyhawk and when that ended I tried a couple of "home games" here in Vegas for a few months... then I deployed. I'm back and am jonesing for more games!
Has anything come of this…
