Vegas Gamers

I have played V:TES since back in the Jyhad days, and I've run the V:TES US Nationals and the other events at the Origins Convention for the last 10 years, as well as having GMed other board games there since 1990.

There are a couple of us non-LARPers here in town who play V:TES once or twice a month, and as I just found out about this group, I was wondering if anyone would like to (re?)learn some V:TES? I might suggest the Battlezone Comics store since they have tables and look very gamer friendly. I can stop up there some evening for an informal educational session, if anyone is interested. Some rules have changed, but I can get some new demo decks for players, as well as asking the store to stock a few boxes, if there is any interest. I haven't been to the store yet, as I live down by the 15/215 interchange, so I don't know if they already carry V:TES, but I presume they don't.

Please let me know! Thanks!

I played this when it was Jyhad, its a very interesting game. I think many card gamers and Euro gamers would enjoy it. If you would like to come to the June game day and demo it, we would love to have you there.

V:TES stands for "Vampire: The Eternal Struggle" and it is the White Wolf CCG. It was originally called "Jyhad", but there was a name change starting with the second set. It is the second CCG created by Richard Garfield and uses the old World of Darkness as its setting; even though White Wolf discontinued the oWoD several years ago, it continues within V:TES and its characters. It has several elements *opposite* of Magic:The Gathering, such as: multiplayer vs. 2-player, No Card Limits vs. 4-card-limit, no draw phase (i.e. you always have a "full" hand) vs draw one card per turn. Since we do need 4 or 5 players, I may have a friend come down to help us demo with the "demo" decks, or we could just play a 3-player game to get the mechanics down.

I'll figure out a date when I can come down to the store and demo some V:TES for y'all, and I'll probably just show up for half-a-day or so and hang out.

I've always wanted to try some White Wolf games, but no one around seems to like them. We have a million D&D games going all the time, but never anything new. I'd love to come down and learn the game sometime.

BattleZone doesn't carry V:TES but I'm sure there would be plenty of people interested in trying it out. Bring it down to the store some evening! We have a large TCG/CCG player base that's at the store regularly and we're very gamer friendly. ;D
